Where: National Council of Research, Conference Room, Via P. Castellino 111
When: August 31

It is possible to sign in to the meeting just after the main confernce ENFC2020 online registration https://www.enfc2020.org/index.php/registration-info
Workshop 1: Genomics of Nitrogen-Fixing Organisms - 10.00 to 13.00
Organizer: Peter Young
A workshop on genomics has been a well-attended feature of every ENFC for the past 20 years. The focus is on the nitrogen-fixing microbes themselves rather than their symbiotic partners. We include not just studies of the genome sequences, but all the "genome-enabled" science that flows from this knowledge: transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics etc. Although these topics will feature in the main ENFC, the workshop provides a more extended opportunity for us to hear from all the groups who are doing relevant work. We are happy to include presentations from group leaders, from postdocs or from graduate students.
If you would like to attend the meeting, please register via the conference website. Abstracts for short presentations will be selected from conference submissions of individuals who co-registered for the workshop. There will be no poster session.
Workshop 2: Nitrogen-fixing symbiosis in the context of plant microbiome
Organizers: Simona Radutoiu, Marco Bazzicalupo - 13.30 to 16.30
The field of plant microbiome is on a rapid development and many advancements in the area have been made. In legumes grown in natural environments, the development of nitrogen fixing symbiosis runs in parallel with root microbiota establishment, however we have little understanding on how these two parallel processes affect and interact each other.
This second workshop in the series aims to bring together scientists interested on plant/rhizosphere microbiome and those interested in studying and understanding symbiotic nitrogen fixation from the rhizobiome perspective. This workshop will continue the tradition initiated at the ENFC conference in Stockholm in 2018 that attracted a large attendance and exciting presentations. This second workshop focuses on scientific presentations of results from analyses of plant microbiome including bacteria, fungi and viruses. The workshop welcomes presentations and encourages young scientists to join and engage in discussions on plant-microbe interactions from a larger, inclusive perspective. If you would like to attend the meeting, please register via the conference website. Abstracts for short presentations will be selected from conference submissions of individuals who co-registered for the workshop. There will be no poster session.
We look forward seeing you in Naples.
